Jonathan Carroll, l'auteur du Baiser aux abeilles ou du Bûcher des immortels, vient de sortir un nouveau roman : The Ghost in Love.
Le site Sci Fi Wire en parle :
Multiple-award-winning author Jonathan Carroll--whose latest novel is The Ghost in Love--told SCI FI Wire that he has never thought of himself as a genre writer, although his books are usually marketed as SF or fantasy.
"Tropes from all of those genres pop up in my work, but I never consciously set out to use them," Carroll said in an interview. "If they fit a situation or a character, ... then I use them. But I don't think of my novels as fitting into any one category."
The novel tells the story of a man who falls on the street, hits his head and dies. "But, funny thing--he doesn't die, although he was supposed to," Carroll said. "The gods even sent a ghost to take his soul to the afterlife. But this ghost watches in shock and disbelief as the man recovers and goes on with his life. How did this happen? What is going on? The ghost is told to stick with the man and keep an eye on him while the gods figure out what went wrong."
