Sur son site internet, Neil Gaiman a réagi à la photo qui a fait le tour du monde et qui montre le petit Aylan Kurdi, un jeune refugié, mort sur une plage alors qu'il devait rejoindre la Grèce avec sa famille.
L'auteur a fait par de sa tristesse :
" It made me cry, but I know I'm overly sensitive to bad things happening to small children right now. I'm reacting as if he's family."
L'année dernière, Neil Gaiman a visité des camps de refugiés pour leur venir en aide et a partagé les témoignages douloureux de ces personnes.
Il se dit choqué de voir des réfugiés, qui se sont enfouies de leurs pays pour fuir la guerre ou la violence, sans aucunes ressources et sans aucune aide dans des pays qui devraient les accueillir et leur porter secours.
