Norman Spinrad est en
interview ici.
Il évoque pas mal de sujets et notamment Jack Barron.
Extrait :
Your novel Bug Jack Barron made me think of something very particular. What I like about the story is that this countercultural icon, Jack Barron, uses the media for his and his movement’s ends. This is interesting in terms of the internet and Occupy Wall Street. The Occupy movement, despite its failings, created its own media channels, allowing it to raft its various messages, all in attempt to avoid mainstream media distortion of the narrative.
Norman Spinrad : Yeah, I wrote another book called The World Between, in which there is what I called an electronic democracy, where one house of the legislature is the people. I invented the internet long before Al Gore, and I think I called it the web. I was just reading today about what’s going on in China, and how the bloggers are getting around the heavy censorship. I think that’s a very positive thing in terms of freedom of information and the press; and in terms of instant reporting as things go wrong.
As you know, during wars and uprisings in places where dictatorships control the media, the problem is that you don’t know what to trust. There is so much information out there on the internet that isn’t necessarily all information, if you see what I mean. It’s tons of bullshit.
