Jeffrey Ford a parlé de son nouveau roman : The Girl in the Glass
C'est l'histoire d'un trio de malfrat qui pendant la grande dépression embobinent des riches.
"During one of these seances, the head con man thinks he sees the ghost of a girl in the pane of a glass door," Ford said in an interview. "He has to find out what it was, and so he and his partners investigate. The book is narrated by Diego, a 17-year-old illegal Mexican immigrant, who, during the seances, poses as Ondoo, a Hindu mystic. Along with Thomas Schell, the skeptical head con man, and Henry Bruhl, an ex-carnival strong man known as Antony Cleopatra, Diego helps discover the truth behind the girl in the glass. Following the mystery leads them into trouble with the KKK, the Eugenics Record Office and a strange, murderous creature of the night."
