Every time I hear the term "Cultural Approprriation" my saliva gets all thick and ropy. Norman Spinrad's column in Asimov's -- his appalling column in which he states that Mike Resnick is the greatest writer of African scifi and that he knows there are Indian scifi writers because he had dinner with one--is condescending and annoying, but I've found some of the responses to his column even more disturbing, indictments of white writers, cronyism (she passes the PC test but he doesn't), and so on.
