Des news de Robin Hobb
Robin Hobb vient de rendre son prochain bouquin à son éditeur.
Elle en profite pour mettre un mot sur son blog à propos des corrections des relecteurs :
"I'm writing about this because I often receive letters from readers or neophyte writers who seem to think that editors and writers are antagonistic to each other. Some letters seem to think that I resent editors making changes or corrections to the books. The reality couldn't be more different. Over the years, every editor I've ever worked with has cared deeply about both our genre and the current books. For every book, changes were suggested, some strongly, and most often I agreed with the editor. After all, editors have a particular set of skills, and one of the big ones is being able to look at my book objectively, and tell me when a scene drags or a character doesn't make sense. The times that I disagreed, the editors respected my decision. (And on at least two occasions, I've later decided that the editor was right, and I should have made the change!)"
