Le comédien britannique Bernard Hill est décédé ce dimanche 5 mai. Il avait joué le roi Théoden, le roi du Rohan, dans l'adaptation du chef d'oeuvre de J.R.R.Tolkien et reçu plusieurs récompenses pour son interprétation (Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice Award, National Board of Review, Phoenix Film Critics Awards, Online Film Critics Awards...).
Dans sa longue et riche carrière, il avait aussi été le commandant Edward Smith dans Titanic. On l'avait vu également dans Jugé coupable de et avec Clint Eastwood, Le Roi Scorpion de Chuck Russell, Gothika de Mathieu Kassovitz, La Plus Belle Victoire de Richard Loncraine ou bien encore Walkyrie de Bryan Singer. Plusieurs acteurs du Seigneur des anneaux lui ont rendu hommage.
