Born of Hope est le nom d'un cours métrage qui est en fait une préquelle au Seigneur des anneaux. Il est basé sur les appendices laissés par Tolkien.

This hour long original drama is set in the time before the War of the Ring and tells the story of the Dúnedain, the Rangers of the North, before the return of the King. Inspired by only a couple of paragraphs written by Tolkien in the appendices of the Lord of the Rings we follow Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn, from their first meeting through a turbulent time in their people's history.

This short film is a prequel to The Lord Of The Rings, set in Middle Earth which depicts events leading up to the Fellowship of the Ring. The story follows the Heir of Isildur; the "greatest huntsman and traveller in Middle Earth" as he sets out to find the creature Gollum. The creature must be found to discover the truth about the Ring, and to protect the future Ringbearer.

The script is based on the appendices of The Lord of the Rings, and references in The Fellowship of the Ring.
